    Honda 2200i or 2200i companion?

We're planning on doing our first boondocking trip in April and are wondering about generators. Is it worth the extra $ to buy the 2200i companion with the 30 amp receptacle or are we better off saving the extra money and just getting the regular 2200i and using a 3 prong adapter? We don't plan on running air conditioning. Just charging cell phones, LED lights, occasional use of microwave, coffee maker, and a CPAP. We do not have any special batteries on board. Just the rv/marine battery that came with our 2500RL.

The 30a receptacle would only be a convenience. Not linked to another will not have any more amps

For your cpap, you could use a solar generator, say 240 or 500 watt version should run your cpap all night.

When you run the genny during the day you can recharge it. That way you have quiet nights.

I agree with the other assessments, if you are not running the ac, single 2200 should do the trick. The 30 amp plug is a convenience, a adapter plug would be fine.

I prefer the companion. It is not that much more, and would be partly offset by not having to buy an adaptor.... If you buy an adaptor.... Don't get a cheap one. You will thank me later.

Have been running fridge, tv, microwave and internal lights on a EU2000i generator in a 2610ML. The microwave is the biggest draw, it takes the generator out of eco mode. As soon as the microwave is done, or close to done, the generator returns to running as eco. While the generator is quiet, run it during the day to charge all kinds of systems, so you can have a quiet evening/night.

I have a 15 year old Honda 2000i. It runs the coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, and charges the batteries (just not all at once.). No issues using a corded adapter (not a puck.)
