    Jensen radio reception very poor

2020 Transcend Xplor with the Winegaurd antenna and Jensen radio. TV reception is ok, no FM or AM reception in an area that should have many stations and I do have the booster turned on. Did some basic troubleshooting, tightened the cables and ohmed out the cable from the antenna input on the back of the Jensen but no luck. My next step will be to just install a universal car mast antenna from Best Buy.

Sounds like you checked everything I would have. Fwiw, you could just as easily have titled this thread "Jensen Radio Is Poor". Mine has one channel drop out for no reason quite frequently. A replacement is on the list of projects.

I was unhappy with mine too and checked all the same stuff. I put in a flexible antenna (behind the cabinet) and reception was even worse. Went back to the booster antenna (King Jack in my case) and decided the internal receiver hardware in the Jensen is just junk.

Everything about the Jensen is junk.
You have to jog the bass and treble controls frequently because though they show full adjustment they back out for no reason.
Also the HDMI selection vanishes from the menu too.
    Everything is bad with them.

I fully agree, Jensen is junk. Very disappointed that GD would choose such a lousy radio in an otherwise nicely built coach.
My Delphi SkyFi XM Radio receiver to FM transmitter works great in all my rigs, except for the Jensen. I have to put the SkyFi unit within a few feet of the Jensen or else I just hear static...

I’m researching a drop in replacement for the Jensen.

The Jensen has a tiny reset hole I keep a paper clip taped nearby for. It doesn’t cure the mulligans but it sometimes gets the unit to work after it backs into hell for no reason. Turn down the volume when ya poke that clip in the hole BTW.

We paid for the optional high end Rockford Fosgate system and we’re shocked it still includes the dreadful Jensen.

Most any car stereo head unit can replace the Jensen, maybe not drop in, but well worth it.
Probably want a separate blu ray player anyway for better pic quality...

Needs a HDMI feature to jive with the TV. They’re out there and I’ll do a thread when I get around to it. Slim pickings with Crutchfield so I’ll do a deeper search.

Many don’t know about the HDMI because the Jensen usually won’t show it or let you step into it when it does. But it’s there and nice through the Rockford sound system when it does function.
The Jensen is bad in so many ways.

Jensen does answer the phone. They are very aware of the mulligans but act surprised and offer no solutions.

Good luck with that...hardly any car stereos have hdmi, hence the blu ray player comment. The RV players only do DVD quality anyway.

Please post whatever you find in the way of a replacement for the Jensen. Even if some cosmetic adjustments are needed... Thanks Dive Bar!
