Look you all, to start with, the op has a good honest question.
Some might have different opnions on tires, tire makes, how to take care of them, when to change them.................... and so on.
To be real honest with you all, I had no idea of "China Bombs" and the importance of TPMS until I got on here. Now, thanks to this group and the experience shared here I am more knowledgeable and able to make more educated decisions on my purchases and most importantly aware of what to better focuse my attention on. Tires is only one of them. One of many. I "choose" to keep my West Lakes for a second season but I also choose to purchase a tpms and monitor my tires more closely. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but that shouldn't mean that you can't ask a question without risking to get your head chewed off based on difference of opinions.

I soooo want to close this thread. Too many folks getting on too many folks case over maybe nothing.

Everyone needs to take a breath.

The OP's issue is settled, why keep beating a dead horse?

I removed one post I thought was nothing more than poking someone in the eye (figuratively speaking) just to get a reaction.

If you posted something here you regret, let us know and we can remove something you posted in the 'heat of the moment'.....

If you have no regrets then continue on - but be civil about it.

I thought the OP's initial question was a good one and the discussion that followed was interesting - for a while.

I’ve seen some members on here get pretty feisty over Westlakes perceived quality. But guess what, they have earned it. Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

I’ve looked up specs on the 15” Endurance and Westlake load range D tires. The Goodyear’s weigh 5lbs more each. That’s over 20% more in the same exact size. (205/75r15, 24lbs vs 29lbs) What’s that say about the quality of those tires? In quality passenger or LT tires you’ll be hard pressed into find more than a 10% difference given the same size and load range.

PS, I’m planning on putting my westlakes on my 1100lb utility trailer since they are about 4 years newer. It never sees more than 2000lbs.

I didn’t know weight was an indicator of quality

Most off-road and racing enthusiasts will actually look for the lightest tire and wheel combo

There is a BIG difference between tires for racing purposes and tires for Trailer purposes. For an extreme example, take a look at a semis tires. Nothing light about them.
