    Making our way North . . .

We are coming north from the Florida panhandle and trying to get to Port Huron without coming up I75.
I69 has been recommended. Would those who travel this area regularly, think this is a good plan ?
Second question . . . are there any campgrounds in the Lansing Flint area that are open before April . . . just a one night stop.

    Thanks
    Rob

I think there are places open in Frankenmuth, which is just north of Flint and worth a stop if you haven't visited the area before - particularly if you like the idea of a little Bavaria (Germany) and *really* like Christmas. Holly, MI, just south of Flint, also may have some areas open by April.

The only campground I know of being open is Outdoor Adventure-Davison and unless you have a membership to Coast to Coast, RPI, not sure you can get in. Water probably won't get turned on until May 1st. Google them and get the number for the Davison campground to see. Most of the other parks all around here aren't going to open until May 1st. Major bummer!!

Catch I23 in Ohio and you can take that up to I69 in flint at I75. Holly rec area is just a little south of that. It is a state park that opened one of their loops today. They don't have water at the site but they will have water available. They do have electric.

Hate to see you go, Cate & Rob. Hope you enjoyed your time here in FL.
Did it get too hot for you? We've been unseasonably warm the last two weeks. I wish it would cool back off for a lottle while. I am NOT ready for Summer.

We have really enjoyed the "early summer" in Florida this year. You guys live in an amazing part of the continent. Been watching the snow storms at home . . . and not missing that at all ! We love the Florida west coast and particularly the state parks. Cate is already well into booking our next winter schedule. Some parks not far from Ocala . . . we will have to make the connection.

Made it to Michigan ! Really difficult to find an open campground in March (that doesn't require a special membership).
So we thought we would try the Waterloo Rec Area State park . . . previously suggested as maybe a rendezvous point for folks from Michigan and Canada heading to the Grand Design Rally. Part of the park is open . . . no buildings yet but that's OK. Nice park !

A whole state park just for us
We are the only ones here !!
