    Ordered Truck-now looking for hitch.

I have pulled the trigger on my truck (2015 Dodge 3500 Laramie CC LB 4x4), and now looking for a 5th wheel hitch. I got the 5th wheel prep group which comes with the mounts counter-sunk in the bed. Been looking at Reese, Husky, and B&W Companion. I do like the idea of a clean bed when hitch is removed. Thoughts, opinions??

Look at Andersen hitches. They make the most affordable and common sense hitch there is, I have one and wouldn't buy anything else. Anything else is just old school of thought.

Boy hitch discussions can get a little like Ford versus Chevy versus Dodge. It really comes down to personal preference. Some people get extremely opinionated. On another forum which I visit and sometimes find extremely painful as many of the participants are quite frankly A-holes, I refuse to even buy in on these discussions. I finally change my profile to eliminate the detail on my truck or my hitch to try and escape personal assaults.

Anyway, I have the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel hitch and really like it. I wanted something easier to get in and out of the truck, I have a 3/4 ton truck so was looking to drop some weight in the bed and finally, I LOVE new ideas and concepts. I was immediately attracted to the Andersen before I even decided I wanted to get one for myself. I have used a traditional style 5th wheel hitch for years, a Husky 16k, so I do have experience with both. I'm in the process of sanding and refinishing my Husky and I'm certain I can get an easy $500 in my area. That's awesome since I only paid $350 for my Andersen delivered

Anyway, do your research and be comfortable in your decision. Good luck.

I, like Poppy and Eaglehead, have the Andersen hitch. I have used many of the "standard hitches" on the market and even used the Pull-rite Slider. I find the Andersen has many great features and would buy another if I needed to. These people are right "many hitches - many opinions". Look at all of the hitches out there, find a good local dealer and buy what ever you like, just make sure that you get more than you need for your current purposes.

The advantage that the OP has here is that they have a Ram with the factory prep kit. If they go with the RVK3600 B&W Companion, they won't be limited as to what they can tow. It has greater pulled and carried weight capacities than the Andersen, and is an appropriate match for their truck.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts/opinions so far. The Companion is looking really good right now. But, I'm researching the Anderson hitch now. Looks interesting.
