    Residential fridge in 320g

I'm looking to purchase a 320g other than ordering I've only been only able to locate models with residential fridges. These run through an inverter when not plugged into shore power. How efficient are these and how quickly do they deplete your batteries over night. My current rig is equipped with a 12 volt everchill which has been surprisingly good. Anyone had experience with these? Are they energy hogs our would I be better off ordering with a gas electric version. Would like any input, thanks.

As far as I know, a 120VAC residential refrigerator option is not available on the Momentum 320G. Are you sure you're not seeing the new 12VDC compressor refrigerators?

The residential frig is a power hog.

Looking at GD web site on the 320G; there is no mention of a R anywhere. Only "Stainless Steel Accented Double Door Refrigerator" and a 12 cu refer in the floor plan.

During the 2020 build year, they substituted a Haier residential refer for the RV fridge. Not really an option, but it is what they had to put in them.

Standard build is till the 12 cu ft RV refer.

Ordering a new 320G today, or tomorrow, and it is definitely the residential fridge now. At least currently, you can still get the "older" style RV fridge if you are ordering new.

Is the salesman telling you that or Grand Design?

The salesman did, and verified with Grand Design. The most current sales build sheet has a selection for either the RV or the Residential frig on it, both are the same price. I ordered today with the RV fridge.

I'm in the same situation. I just dont think the res fridge would be as efficient as a 12 volt version so will probably do like you and order with the rv fridge.

Aren't the "standard" RV refrigerators a Norcold or Dometic Gas/Electric (as opposed to a "12volt")? If so, those gas absorption models are very inefficient IMO - takes days to get to initial temperature, and if you aren't quick with the doors it takes a long while to get it back down. A fan inside the fridge helps move air across the coils and will help cool it faster tho.

We're looking at an M or TH model, and have the same question about the residential units that the OP did. We were able to walk through a couple over the weekend with the residential and the salesman said they would run off the inverter while travelling. So how long do these run on battery (assuming 2 27 group batteries)?
