Well, I finally had time to work on my solar-battery-inverter install. Here are some pictures showing my approach to solving the problem of conserving storage space while adding all the goodies. In the end, I think I actually gained some space.

I was able to move things around and stash the batteries behind the aft basement partition.

I used the selector switch to allow the inverter to power both legs of the AC panel when connected to the inverter or a 30 amp service

    Finished Assembly

I tried to keep the wires away from the floor and out the way but the 4/0 wire is a challenge to route. In the end I was able to keep most of the conductors behind the wall.

I placed the BMV-712 and Inverter control behind what was a dummy door held closed with a screw. I'll use the blue tooth app on my phone but my DW will want to have a switch she can flip to turn on the inverter.

I now have a front compartment with no batteries and plenty of room for adding storage shelves and a tool box. Can't wait to start on that mod.

Yes @RoadmasterD - X2......well done ! Thanks, for sharing the pictures and narrative. Your solar install along with those shared by several others has been a good learning tool for me and many others.

Your install is very impressive. Very clean. Great work.

From the roof, to the basement, where and how did you come down with the solar panel wires?

Thanks, I used the existing wiring that GD provided as the “Solar Ready” package. It’s a 10 AWG wire that ran from the roof to the front compartment. They also included a pre-wired Jaboni brand box with MC4 connectors installed in the roof.

I installed the panels as two parallel strings of four in series. This gives me about 80 volts and 12 Amps. The 10 AWG wire can handle around 30 Amps +/-

Looks great! You're much more ambitious than me, I thought what I did to our 303 was a lot.

Thanks, it’s a bit out of necessity as well. We spend a lot of time off grid and I’d like to minimize the generator run time.
