    Running lights fuse location

While driving down the road all of our running lights went out. It must be a fuse of some kind but where might they be located????

Power for the running lights comes from your tow vehicle. Start simple, check the plug, then start checking fuses in the truck.

Thank you! We found a blown trailer park light fuse! Going to get a replacement now!

    Welcome to the forum!

There's also a junction box in the pin box for the 7 way wiring and there could be a loose connection there.

    Dave

Edit: Didn't see your update before I posted...glad you've got it sorted out.

Something caused that fuse to blow. It could be as Dave mentioned, a loose wire in that junction box, a chafed wire somewhere (truck or trailer). If it blows again, which it probably will, you are going to have o start troubleshooting.

Help!!! Guess we will check the junction box. We replaced the fuse and checked and the lights worked. When we were hooking up to leave this morning nothing worked again!! Changed the fuse and nothing!

That junction box is a known culprit, where the wires exit look for a loose grommet and rubbed through wires.

I am am speculating that the only time you lose lights is when you are hooked up to the trailer? What tow vehicle/trailer do you have? There could be something going on with the truck also.

We have a 2011 Gmc 2500 hd and a 2014 momentum 355th. We have had the truck for 6 years and the trailer for 2 years. The truck lights work. It is just all the running lights on the trailer. They atipped working coming home from Tucson to Dallas in April. Knew the backup camera quit working but didn't realize it was all the trailer lights until this weekends trip.

Most likely it is a wire that rubbed through. Finding it is going to be the problem. Did you check the junction box as Dave mentioned? If so, start looking at individual lights, particularly the ones lower on the body that are mounted to the metal skirt, where the wire runs into the back of the lights. Let us know how you make out.
