Camping San Diego

Looking to get away for a couple days, would like to stay along the ocean in San Diego. Anyone know of a good campground there?

Bring money, lots of money. Check out Trip Wizard. We stayed at KOA Chula Vista, not on the water. I recall seeing some on the bay north side of the city.

I like the state parks - San Elijo or South Carlsbad. They both have very close access to the ocean, but they are also very booked up too. Dry camping for the most part but there are a few hookup sites (probably not available though). I have heard good things about paradise by the sea in Oceanside but I have not stayed there.

Doubtful you can get in on short notice but check with Carlsbad State Park. North of SD but very nice.

We stayed at Campland on the bay in September. Kinda pricey but we love it

If you're retired military, many great parks in the area. Camp in the sand at Del Mar on Camp Pendleton, go to sleep to booming artillery duels just up the road @ San Onofre.
