I've been towing my travel without a pin to to keep the coupler latch from lifting away from the ball. I'm not sure of the law in California but someone suggested to me that it might be unlawful in some states to not have a pin to secure the coupler latch. I have purchased two locking coupler pins but neither of of them fit. The bottom of the hole in the latch is even with the top of the tongue so the locking type of coupler latch pin can't be inserted into the hole. The tongue at that point is so wide that I haven't been able to find anything that will work.

I was wondering what others with similar coupler latches are using to secure the latch when traveling.
