Wood under tires when parked?
So- another newbie question for the more experienced RV'rs out there. We have been told that we should always have some wood under our tires when we aren't parked on concrete. For those of you who follow that advice, what size and type of wood do you use (2x10? 1x8?) How much past the sides and 'ends' of the tires does yours go, and do you have any problem with the wood getting flipped up when you drive onto it?
Thanks again for all the advice!Ussuri Bruin (and his owners)

I put plastic chopping boards under each one when the RV is parked up for a bit, someone on the forum posted this tip to keep the tires of the ground.

I place thin cutting boards under my tires when the trailer is in storage! I don't know if it does any good but it makes me feel better.

I use 2X12s about 6' long for storage only. These are cut at an extreme angle so there's a ramp the tire goes up and they don't flip up at all. With a bit of practice I got to where I could usually back right up on to them. It's in covered storage, but with a gravel floor.

We camp at some remote campgrounds still on occasion so we take several 2x6,s and 1 1 by about 6ft long. none are cut down at an angle and we have no trouble from them flipping up.

I use 2x12 by 16" long with square cut ends. Also plywood of the same dimensions for "fine tuning".
So, one stack behind the aft tire and one in between the two tires.
I can back onto two stacked 2x12s without any problem.

I use the plastic cutting boards when my rig is in the shop. Concrete or gravel, I believe it helps. The biggest help is keeping the rig out of the sunlight.

I like the plastic cutting board idea. I have new tire marks bleed into the concrete from my last trailer.

We use 2x8s about 4 feet long, took a power saw and mitered the ends to 45 degrees. They have worked so far and provide a surface for the lynx levelers.
