New 31MB Batteries
My dealer installed a second battery "regular" on my new 31MB fifth wheel. It's in a second box but not connected to the ventilation like the first one. I see lots of explosion warnings under here. Is this safe to use?

No not safe, lead acid batteries needs to be vented. Unless it's a seal battery.

The dealer I purchased from did the same thing. I asked "If you thought it was dangerous and placed one battery in a vented box with hose to the exterior why did you install a second battery without the same protection?" Crickets...
I put it in writing when I dropped off the trailer for its first round of warranty repairs, so I'll be interested to see if they deal with it. The two batteries they installed are insufficient to power the 12V refrigerator for more than a couple of hours so I'm going to be replacing them ASAP with a lithium anyway. But I'm still going to push them on the unsafe installation of one of the batteries.
As to how much risk there is, I have no idea.Mike and Rebecca Mullin, Bend OR
