    Question Open Cage Generator

I run already own a Ryobi open cage https://www.ryobitools.com/outdoor/p...onda-generator that runs ~ 70 decibels. it looks like the majority of the closed cage generators run ~ 50 -55 decibels. can I just use what I have or must I go and buy a closed cage generator?

Depends how far you are from your neighbors and whether you want them to hate you. The difference in noise level is astounding.

Our Westinghouse 4500 duel fuel inverter generator runs 52-55 db.
Your neighbors will no want to hear the din of your generator.
Ours is so quiet we’ve run it during some super hot no run night hours when we needed the air conditioner and no one hear it

I don't see anything in the specs on that generator that indicates it is an inverter style generator.

Dirty electric is bad for electronics and circuit boards in RV's.

The 2 reasons against it have been covered - noise, and the fact that it's "dirty" power. Champion and Harbor Freight are less expensive options than a Honda.

No. Unless you're in the middle of the desert with nobody around for a half mile radius. Seriously, the sound really carries. I always seem to get stuck near the a-hole who wants to run his all day and blast his music. Some campgrounds are starting to prohibit them for good reason.

70db is too loud. You won't make any friends by running that. Also a lot of State & National parks have a db limit on how loud a generator can be as well as time limits.

So is the Westinghouse / Cummins 4500df- dual fuel, remote start, db at 52-55, made by a reliable generator company, good warranty, great diagnostics panel, larger output, $1050
