Payload capacity vs 310 GK
Hey team - this post theme has been hit up before - asking a specific question - Looked at a GMC 2500 Denali - the specific sticker on the door panel said 3100# payload capacity - Would appreciate any / all opinions if this 3/4 ton would be suitable for towing a solitude 310 GK -
I do a lot of driving for my sales job - trying to find a good tow vehicle that i could drive for work yet have a great tow vehicle. NOT wanting to have two vehicles -
thoughts appreciated

Loaded pin weights can easily be 3000lbs+ on the 310.
Add in the weight of your occupants and anything else in the truck (coolers, hitch, firewood, etc) and you will be over.
The ride between a 3500 and 2500 is negligible, so just buy the 3500.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

Mines 3100lbs. Combo washer/drier in walk-in closet. No gen. I’m using a MOPAR hitch at around 200 lbs. My loaded , traveling weight is a tad over 14k on the RV. I would want at least 4K CCC on the truck. I think you can find that on some of the newer 350 & 3500 SRW’s , but it’ll take some looking.

Every 3/4 ton, and 1 ton truck I have owned, with just me, a full tank of gas, my normal junk, and I am always about 200-250 lbs less payload, which means you are realistically looking at 2,850 lbs payload, before you add passengers, hitch (200-300 lbs)...etc.
I would pick a 3500. The GMC 2500 and 3500 ride dang near the same. Same size, and usually less than a couple of thousand difference in price.

As others have stated, the 310GK, when loaded, is too much trailer for a 3/4-ton truck. Ours puts 3,280 lbs. on the pin (washer/dryer, but nothing in the waste tanks and no generator - and lithium batteries which weigh half what lead-acid batteries do). By the time you consider the weight of a hitch, you and your passengers, and "stuff," the 310GK needs a minimum of a properly optioned 1-ton SRW.
