A 2021 Model Price, but got the 2020
Is this a 'thing' in the RV world, or just with Grand Design?
When I went to buy my RV (07/2020), they told me it was the 2021 model... only for me to find out later that its 'a' model, with a 2021 VIN#.
The actual 2021 has more features, of course.
Thanks for any insight into this rather disappointing part of being a new GD-RV Owner.

All over the Grand Design website they have this wording "Because of our commitment to continuous product improvement, Grand Design RV reserves the right to change components, standards, options, specifications, pricing and materials without notice and at any time. Photos may show optional equipment which may not be included in the standard purchase price of the featured unit. Be sure to review current product details with your local dealer before purchasing."

Other than the one connect, which I have but really don’t care about and would rather have the storage space the controller stole, what else are you mad about?
You likely have a Coleman a/c. Vs the Furrion. Which may be okay I just haven’t had one before
They are new to the industry

My 2021 2970RL was built in June 2020 and we took delivery July 30. Changes our 2021 had were added cubbies next to the bed. Sliding box under the bed.
Things we didn't get - one connect which I'm grateful for. I think August built rigs of our model got the one connect. So we barely, and thankfully, missed the upgrade I don't want anymore 'technology'. We lost the 2 folding dinette chairs. That was a disappointmemt.
Not sure what the more features are. Think they are probably just different features.

Fare enough - things are 'added all the time'.
First time buyers mistake, I guess.
But Ill say this...
As a 1st Time RV Buyer, all we hear is "It's a 2021 model" at the time of sale.
Later, we see the 2021 model of today has new features.
Ultimately, the RV MFG could be finishing the 2020 production for the year, slap a 2021 label on it - and call it a day.
If its the exact same RV as the 2020, Then what makes it a 2021?
It wasn't produced in 2021 and has no 'improved/upgraded features' as the now 2021.
When I go to sell this as a 2021, and you are the buyer, you'll need to figure out which 2021 I am selling vs the other guy selling his 2021
Seems a bit like a challenge to me.
As a first time buyer - I've learned something new.

When I wrote to Grand Design, this was their... excuse.
I do appreciate the reply.

1st, I'm not mad - folks. Disappointed isn't mad.
And you're sort of making my point for me...
My 2021 vs another persons 2021 - how would I know what those differences are?
These 'changes' are model changes, like when you buy a Truck. the 2018 GMS Sierra comes in (3) body types.
Honest mistake on my part for not knowing that RV's come in 'model types' that are not listed anywhere... Thats all.
