Auto Leveling
Fifth wheel 260RD auto leveling, raised the unit up off the ground...went to manual mode. I did some googling and really didn't see any great recommendations. If someone has a video for a fifth wheel newbie and can send it along, or general advisement, that would be great...

Not really sure what your question is. Are you saying when you used AutoLevel, the trailer raised, and then went to Manual mode?

Before doing anything else, check to see if the sensors are properly mounted. My rear one fell off it's mount due to the screws stripping out the plastic. some time later it came loose and was free to flop around in the underbelly. This caused erratic operation. After I secured it in place it has been perfect. No reset needed. If your sensor is moving around, no amount of rezeroing will fix it.

I see where that could be confusing, what happened was I aborted auto-level and then levelled manually. I do appreciate the reply...

I see, why did you abort AutoLevel? How level was the site? Having a tire off the ground isn't that unusual if the site has some slope to it.

The system will lift the wheels off the ground if location has a tilt. Most will run the wheels up on blocks on the low side before auto leveling. The manual recommends not lifting the wheels off the ground. IF the site is not level, I manually level. I've learned this is more stable than having the system to level. My theory is the jacks are at a shorter length compared to when the system does it.

Agree that it is not necessarily a problem with the system when a tire(s) comes off the ground on one side. I have had this happen on a site that is not "side to side" level. When I encounter such a situation, I will drive up on blocks (on the low side), then chock, unhitch, and use auto-level.
On un-level sites, I will also use blocks under the leveling legs to try to even out the "travel" of the legs; just a rough eyeball, not getting overly consumed with it.Last edited by Keebler; 05-05-2023 at 08:54 AM.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the pointers. In this case the campground (KeyLime Bay RV Resort by Tampa) is new, the site was paved and very level. The auto-level raised all 4 wheels off the ground with the display showing 'auto level success'. At that point I set the leveling system to manual and continued with the leveling. I looked in the owner's manual for reset of level section, however did not see a reset for auto-level section. I am going to check the web to find a how-to' manual as suggested earlier
