    Just a data point

Our trailer is about the same size as yours . On the road weight - a couple of days of boondocking in the waste tanks and a bit of water in the fresh tank - was about 6700 total with 870 on the tongue. I have a new truck since then. I think tongue weight will be a little higher. The ball ended up half an inch lower than the previous truck.

Quite sure the OP has moved on from this disastrous towing combo

    That whole article is suspect

“Overloaded RVs are the single biggest reason for accidents among RVers”

    This quote I disagree with

I would not want to max it out which is why I’d like to know what the true unloaded tends to be. Like, what the trailer weighs at the dealer.
1239 lbs payload would concern me, for sure!

I hope you’ve moved away from this. Your Vehicle is not made for this trailer

We have a 2500RL. Have had it weighed a number of times. Never saw less than 7300 lbs and we don’t have a huge amount of extras. That weight is without water . That means 876 at the hitch.

Two passengers, clothes , chairs, tools, grill , table. We are well over 600 lbs. that exceeds you payload capacity already .

Either get a more robust towing vehicle or a much lighter trailer. Very few SUV has the payload capacity to even pull many lightweight trailers safely or without wearing them out. Soft nice ride suspensions, regular size alternators and cooling. Gear ratios for gas mileage vs power.
