    To each their own.
I use unscented bleach and have no trouble determining when it's there or not.

Guys & Gals, I use liquid swimming pool chlorine. More concentrated, no bleach smell or taste even though I still use the bleach ratio. If it’s good for the public water systems, what the heck. Have used for years.

Thank you everyone for the great info. I now know how to get the bleach/chlorine into the tank.

The goal is your fresh water tank.

Assuming your rig is much like mine, the easy way is to mix some into a jug or bucket. Then use the Sanitize setting on the Nautilus panel. I keep a 4' section of hose without one end to suck up whatever is going into my tank. Anti-freeze, bleach mix, or simply fresh water in a bucket! We run out of fresh long before our other tanks are full.

What year, make and model trailer do you have. Your answer makes a difference to accurately answer your question

Edit: Ouch! I thought my memory was better than that... It's NOT 1/2 a cup for 5 gallons, it's 1/4 cup for 20 gallons... I corrected my post above. Here is the link I reference when I sanitize my system: https://www.sanidumps.com/sanitizerv...atersystem.php

Interesting: my Solitude manual says 1/4 cup of bleach per gallon water.

For purifying water, in a survival situation, it's 8 drops of bleach per gallon, cap it, let it sit for 30 minutes, then open it and let it sit for 1 hour. I would think the manual is a typo, otherwise, you would be putting in 12.5 gallons of bleach for a 50 gallon fresh tank. That just doesn't sound right.

Manual is not a typo. The manual further states to prepare 1 gal of the solution for each 15 gal capacity of the tank. For our 45 gal tank, that’s a whole 3/4 cup of bleach.

Ah, so the rest of the story! 1/4 cup for 15 gallons is fine.
