Pin weight for those with 337RLS

Just trying to get an idea of what I can go for. I have a 2500HD with appox 3100lb payload not counting 2 passengers and bed items. The 337 has a pin weight of 2090 dry so just wondering what everyone has for weight when loaded. The 320 with a dry pin of 1960 is even better. Do you use 17% to 20% of GVWR to estimate pin?

Okay, this is going to sound crazy but I've weighed twice. First time at CAT scales was 3,100 lbs. Second time at the Rally was 3,200 lb.

    Most I've seen are around 2,800 - 3,100.

My 318RST is almost identical to the 337RLS and our pin weight is 2,950lbs.

    Sounds about right.

Propane and minimal water will bring that dry weight up to 2300 or so. Almost all the storage in a 337 is toward the front. I'd guess that at least half the weight of what's in the basement and the bedroom ends up as pin weight.

Still guessing, but you might keep a lightly loaded 337 to 2600-2700 lbs on the pin. Loaded for a week or more, and 3100-3200 seems likely.

If you use the search function, I think you'll find this has been discussed several times before. We weigh about twice a year and our pin weight runs between 3,000 and 3,100 lbs. pretty consistently. We have a front AC but no washer/dryer.

~2700 loaded for camping, 2 AC, no washer dryer and about 5 gallons fresh water. Fairly easy to stay under that for camping, full timers would be over 3000 easy.

Thanks for the responses. Not going full time yet and only time we will be carrying full water is from the spigot in campground to the site. The 320 seems to be the ticket with the rear kitchen as food and such will help weight in the rear to keep pin down. I also will be toting kayaks strapped to the rear of the unit which will add 100lbs. I know most of the storage is in the front which just loads the pin. So many decisions...

I believe my pin weight is about 3,120 grossing about 12,500. That's 23%. If I maxed out at 13,995, my pin weight would be around 3,500 or a little better.

I'm well within the limits of a SRW F350, but I wouldn't go bigger with this truck. The truck pulls it like its not there and the disk brakes on the fiver stop like its not there, either.

My wife promises me that this is the biggest RV we'll ever have. <G>

Sorry - forgot to address this part of your question. 23 - 25% of the fifth wheel's GVWR are better numbers to use for estimated loaded pin weight.

I know this is a bit after the fact and seen several comments on pin weight on several Grand Design. We just purchase a 2018 337 plus a F250 4x4 based on GD specs stating

    Dry Weight
    10,436 lbs.

    Payload Capacity
    3,559 lbs.

    GVWR
    13,995 lbs.

    Hitch Weight
    2,090 lbs.

This is on our unit, still within capacity of our Ford truck.
Has anyone had any problems pulling this unit.
    This is the key question.
