Jacksonville area, easy HW access for overnight?

Heading to Venice, FL area from Charlotte, NC in 6 weeks. Plan to stop for a night or two in Jacksonville area, but want easy access from interstate so not on the coast as we'll be heading west on I10 out of Jacksonville.
    Recommendations?

Found this one just off the NW corner of the outerbelt so right on our route, but reviews are so-so.
For a one-nighter probably fine, but are there other options?

Unfortunately, The best campgrounds are on the coast. Ft Clinch/Hanna Park/North Beach Campground.
I have driven past the one you mentioned heading to S Georgia and it doesn't look that great from I95.
Personally, I haven't stayed there, and being from JAX, probably never will.

If you don't specifically need to be in the JAX area, and are only using it as a waypoint, you might consider stopping off in Brunswick, 45 minutes north of Jax.
Blythe Island is right off of I95 south 30 miles from the FL border. Its a very nice campground either for overnight, or spend a day or 2.

You are still on your route to I10 west to I75 south.

    just a thought.

    Have a safe trip!

    Thank you!

A little north of the border is about the half-way point for us, so that works also. I'll check out Blythe Island. Agree on the link above, others look much better. There are a handful of Mom & Pop operations near the border that look promising - we might try out 2 different ones coming/going as this will be a regular route for us 1-2x a year to visit family.

This one looks nice enough, reviews are decent: http://www.countryoaksrv.com/

we have been going there for short trips for the past 8 years. You will not be disappointed.

I have a reservation for later April. Back-in, no more pull through available.
I know it's going to vary site to site, but hows backing in, in general?

I have only backed in 1 time there, and it wasn't an issue. That said it is site specific. What site do you have reserved?

The only one available! I suppose I should have asked what number so I can check on the map, at least!

As long as they know you need 14ft height clearance and your rig is 35ft long with slides you should be ok.

Still, you might want to confirm site#. Personally, I don't like surprises. The pull throughs go fast as they are huge
