I’m in the 60-70 club. 67 most of the time on the speed limit 70 interstates. Conscious of traffic, not out there to create a backup, and utilize lane discipline. I will go faster to make a pass/get away from the idiots that go 60 when you’re behind them but 75 when you try to pass.

Also well aware that we still have the Westlakes and therefore a 75mph speed rating.

‘Speed’ can be cited in almost every wreck, but it’s rarely the true main cause - just a contributing factor when coupled with other issues. So I usually hate that excuse. With the trailer though, in tougher conditions or on tougher roads, I’ve found a little less speed goes a long way in making everything more pleasant.

I never cruise above 65. Will exceed that when necessary to pass smoothly but will then drop back to 65 or less.

I’m just not in that big of a hurry anymore. Now 30 years ago was a different ball game.

I try to keep up with all the toy haulers being pulled to Sturgis in August for the Rally on I 90 going west in SD, but they kept passing me at 85 MPH ! So I backed off to the speed limit of 80. Made really good time though !

For you folks that are serious.........I'm just kidding ! I backed off to 82.

I guess I am with most of the people here, cruising between 60 and 70 on the major highways. When its wide open, straight and flat, I can go above 70 for short stretches. As we travel more west, I suspect that may change a bit.
My TPMS must be working on truck and trailer.
Co-pilot is watching for accidents and other issues ahead.

I am amazed at how fast I can stop when towing. All thing considered, it still takes a good distance, but it's way faster than I think the laws of physics would allow. We just can't explain the face prints on the windshield,.... weird.

Drive safe and know your truck/trailer. Gain experience before you push the numbers.

65-67 mph for us. Wife reminds me all the time that it's not a race. Besides, there's too many people in Az that drive beyond their skill level to go any faster !

That's usually true for me when travelling with my wife.

But when I travel with my guy friends, everything is a race.

I do the speed limit up to 65 MPH, even if the limit is 70 or higher. I have on a few occasions gone up to 70 when passing but I went right back to 65 when done. I am in the retired and in no hurry club. Stability isn't the concern, it is all the other drivers around me and the desire to keep the proper stopping distance.

I tow the 5er at the stated speed limit if I can or with the general flow of HD trucks in the right lanes. I have no issues running up to 75ish to pass. Tires are GY Endurance rated at 86mph. If conditions or terrain are adverse, then I will tow at a speed I am comfortable with given those changes.

This is me as well. The truck will pull it as fast as I want but you still have to stop it.
