What would be involved to add a charger/inverter to the RV? any recommendations for the size / brand to buy? Thanks for the help, John
Here is my budget solar, inverter/charger and battery system in a 303RLS. I expect to use between 50 and 150 amp hours per day.

    (2) SOK 206ah batteries $2,000
Renogy 40 MPPT solar charge controller $140
600 watts of solar panels $600
    Xantrex XC 2080 inveter/charger $800
    (2,000w inverter/80 amp charger)
Victron BMV 712 battery monitor $200

I do have a Champion generator for backup and the converter is still there but switched off at the breaker.

This is my second iteration of the system after a summer in SD and MT for 2 months with full sun to partial shade and limited hook ups. Then a winter trip to TX and AZ for 3 months including boondocking and partial hook ups.

Of all of this, I think the battery monitor is the most important component.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas.

4 - Firefly Carbon Foam AGM which you
Can draw down to 20% like lithium’s
    500 ah- $1800
    1- Victron Multiplus 3000- inverter/ charger
    120 amp charger, electrifies ALL
    110 outlets where a 2000 watt won’t
    All Bluetooth - $1100
1- Victron 712 Battery monitor- Bluetooth
    As stated most important $200

You need 2 Bluesea on/ off switches, a 400 amp fuse, a couple of good bus bars , and then the proper gauge wire cables- $300

    3- Newapower 220 watt solar- 22%
    Efficient, -$540
    Victron 150/50 MTTP Bluetooth controller
    $290

Great have the Victron Bluetooth package all integrated. Victron the top name in world sailing cruisers due to its reliability and longevity especially in a marine environment . How do I know. My sailboat has had Victron components for 20 years and still working.

This allows us to virtually be off grid except for the air conditioner for which we have a Westinghouse IGen 4500 dual fuel super quite generator.

    Best upgrade we ever did
