If you buy a mattress in a box, it is rolled up. When you get the box it says "Unwrap Immediately". If you don't the mattress may be damaged by being rolled up too long.
I wasn't ready to install it in our RV as the new RV was at the dealer (for weeks) on warranty issues. Had to return the mattress for credit. But had to pay for shipping.
Same for us. We slept on the issued mattress 13 days. Laid a broom handle across it and sent pictures. After we provided evidence of a new purchase, check was received. We went with Wilderness and have been very pleased.

That is true, the flimsy mattresses with the hard board just aren't fitting for any long term use. I replaced mine with: 12" Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress and Free Pillows (Medium Firm - RV King 72x80)
Visit the DynastyMattress Store on Amazon. This mattress is absolutely awesome. But make sure you size it right. The dimensions are just slightly bigger making for a somewhat tighter fit. When you first get them, you need to let it air out for a couple of days. The foamy smell can be overpowering until it airs up and out. Hope this helps.

We got a Sleep Number bed. They make RV length mattresses. A bit spendy, but I can't sleep on anything else.

Funny... Where were you three years ago when we were trying to sell our king I-Sleep mattress from our Solitude? With so little room around the bed we needed to downsize to a Queen. When no one wanted to buy our mattress we removed the cover and used an electric carving knife to cut the memory foam mattress down to a queen. My wife reworked the cover while I cut down the base and reworked the hinges.

A few months later we bought a 2-inch memory foam topper. That did the trick! We don't remember the brand but plan on spending at least $150 for a good topper...

Lots of online beds. Can vouch for a Casper original we have slept on for 5+ years, and happy with a T&N as well. If you look online it’s worth paying attention to your size/weight versus the different beds.

Wife ordered a Dynasty RV King 10" memory foam from Amazon last year. A little on the firm side at first but its softer now and is a big step up from the factory mattress.

We put an Endy foam mattress in our Reflection 5th wheel. The Casper mattress is the same style as the Endy. We love it!

Congrats on your new Solitude! We have not changed out our mattress but instead purchased a Mattress Topper (below). It has been TREMENDOUS! Very comfy and we are pretty picky about beds. Enjoy and safe travels!!!

I went with this off Amazon (72X80): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Size was perfect, no mods required. I did have to change out the factory struts to some beefier ones to deal with the extra weight.
