Why you shouldn't exceed TV limits

My wife sent this to me, she found it in the 311 Facebook group.

I guess he should have added airbags, Timbrens, sumo springs and whatever else people add that they think raises their vehicle capacity. Click image for larger version.

Hopefully nobody on this or the other forum. I wonder if the salesman told him he could tow it?

Could be more to this story we don’t know. Could have hit a big dip in the road at speed, but very well could be overloaded with a minimum weight rated truck. Either way not good.

It takes all kinds. At least (for now) it will be easy for me to stay far away from him!

Hard to tell from the picture but kind of looks like they hit a rough patch of road and the trailer came unhitched and landed on the bed. That generation of f150 had very thin sheet metal so it didn’t take much to crush like that. That generation of f150 also had some thin wall frames if the right option group wasn’t selected and even though they are fully boxed, were prone to bending just like the picture with enough abuse.

Much more to the story. The whole rig was on its side across the interstate. This picture was taken after it was righted again. The truck and hitch held up really well considering what it went through.

That's not pretty! If the shebang went over, I hope everyone involved is ok. Did the take a curved ramp entrance onto the highway too fast? We used to live near a ramp that would catch recreational towers off-guard with weekly tip-overs and skidding across the roadway into the median during the camping season. Would take semis too.

Not sure what happened. There are skid marks on the road that would seem to indicate the truck was nearly sideways before tipping, and the way the whole thing laid over you’d the trailer was too. There were no injuries reported

exactly why it's best to know the "Paul Harvey" before pointing fingers. If you don't know what the Paul Harvey is, you are still wet behind the ears.
