2021 310-GK TV soundbar options

Hi everyone. Waiting to take delivery of our new 310 but trying to confirm the existense of the compartment over the living room fireplace and it's measurements for a tv soundbar? Is that compartment still there and suitable?

My 2021 310 does not have that compartment

We have a 2021 310 GK and there is a compartment above the fireplace but it is hidden behind the trim. It is held in place by two clips just give a gentle pull on the trim piece and it will open. Another safe hiding place for your valuables if necessary I guess.

If you're talking about the Solitude 310GK, you probably just haven't pulled hard enough at the top...

Am I the ONLY one without this compartment with a 310GK? Mine was built around Sep 2020. I have noticed that all of the ones WITH the hidden compartment have a different construction above the fireplace than what I have. I've looked inside my televator and I can see the back side of the wood pieces that make up my cabinet. There aren't any hinges in there and I can clearly see that the wide wooden piece above the fireplace is screwed to the side pieces.



BUT, I did mount a soundbar (sound bar ?) in the televator area like some others have done. I used nylon ties to secure it to the metal structure against the back wall behind the TV. My Samsung is 36" wide and 2 3/4" deep. It can't be any deeper because it would touch the jack screw. There is an outlet on the back wall for the TV, so power isn't an issue. The bass unit is Bluetooth so it can sit anywhere in the living room.

We replaced our OEM TV with a Samsung QLED TV soon after we purchased our 2018 310-GK. Shortly thereafter we added a Samsung Sound Bar with Blue Tooth connectivity (yeah, No Wires to run !!! ). We mounted the Sound-bar on the ledge below the fireplace with heavy duty Velcro strips. The sound bar rides on the ledge quite nicely when we travel, we disconnect the Sub-woofer and stow it for travel.

I prefer not having to open a cabinet to get sound from my entertainment system.
