Magnum MSH3012RV Inverter/Charger Question and powering "both sides" of the panel

I am trying to come up with a plan for installing an inverter/charger on my 2020 Reflection 303RLS. I have a 270Ah Battle Born GC3 I'd like to put to full use. Hunting around the internet researching adding inverter/chargers for 50Amp RVs I keep coming back to https://www.explorist.life/50a-campe...iring-diagram/ Here they recommend the Magnum MSH3012RV as opposed to the popular Victron Multiplus 3000. My understanding is by placing an inverter/charger in between the 50Amp shore-power and the distribution panel (essentially splicing it in on the existing cable) I will be able to automatically (as a result of the built-in transfer switch) use the entire RV's electrical system on the battery when not on shore-power. This device (as well as the Victron Multiplus) would also provide power-assist from the battery when connected to shore-power sources that are under 50Amp (e.g. 30Amp, 15Amp, etc.).

Then I came across the AM Solar Smart Phase Selector (SPS) and I got confused again: https://amsolar.com/rv-inverter-accessories/50-tsfmb1 Is this for RVs that have two 50Amp cables feeding the panel (one to each side)? Or is this maybe indicating a difference between the Magnum and Victron? Victron has a new Multiplus II (https://www.victronenergy.com/invert...i#pd-nav-image) that supposedly eliminates the need for the SPS and not sure if the Magnum MSH3012RV already supports that.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jeff

Give Magnum customer service a call. I believe the MSH3012RV will do the same as the Multiplus II without all the programing the Multiplus takes. You will need the Magnum remote. It also has more power as Multiplus rates in VA not Watts. 3000VA is equivalent to about 2400W give or take. One other place to ask is over at the GD technical forum on the GD site.

    Jeff-
Take everything you read here with a huge grain of salt. I am not an expert at anything to do with electrical equipment. I just read a lot.

First, there aren't two 50 amp cables feeding the panel. There is actually a single "6/4" wire that goes from shore power to your panel. The four wires are Line 1, Line 2, neutral and ground. Each line/leg (L1 and L2) is 50 amps. One line feeds half the panel, the other line feeds the other half.

My understanding is the AM Solar Smart Phase Selector, Magnum MSH3012RV and the new Victron 12v Multiplus II will all do split phase (power both 50 amp legs). I was originally going to get the revised Smart Phase Selector but it's not available yet. I have all Vicrton equipment and like Apple, wanted to stay all Victron because of how well their equipment is integrated. So, I ordered the "old" multiplus and just resigned myself to only powering one leg (one half ) of my panel. I then heard about the new 12v Multiplus II a couple weeks ago so I cancelled my Multiplus order and ordered the new Multiplus II. It was supposed to ship by the end of this month but I'm now learning I may have to wait a couple more months.

    It sounds like the
Magnum MSH3012RV is a nice unit but again, I wanted to stay all Victron. I'm just sitting here now waiting for the new Multiplus II to ship so I can finish my project and hit the road.

BTW, I also used Nate's (Explorist.Life) wiring diagrams. Great resource! He replied to a couple of my
comments on his blog. Super nice guy and very helpful. Great videos as well.
