You might want to reconsider that 190-210# torque spec. The printed manual in our 2021 Solitude (08/2020 print date) also shows 190-210#. I checked the torque the first time and the lugs weren't even close. I cranked my wrench up to 190# and started pushing. After throwing my shoulder out of joint (just kidding) I thought that that can't be correct.

I started as a farm kid and have been putting wheels on cars, trucks, tractors, combines, etc. for 60 years - the first forty without a torque wrench. You develop a "feel". I "felt" like I was about to tear that lug off of the hub. I went to the GD website and downloaded the later versions of the Solitude Manual - 12/2020 and 06/2021. Both of those manuals show 130-150# for the 17.5" wheels with coned lug nuts (image attached). That's a substantial reduction from 190-210#. I think some writer at GD screwed up when they first started using the 17.5 wheels. That 190-210# spec is for a 5/8" lug, not 9/19, and for a flanged nut on a steel wheel.

I also attached a lug nut torque chart for etrailer's website.

@Tom Traveler; it is possible indeed that someone made a mistake while wiring the 190-210 ft. lbs.
I downloaded the latest manual for the Momentum series and it shows 140-170. I wonder why there's the discrepancy between the Solitudes and Momentums.

Tom Traveler - you are indeed correct! It looks like the Momentum manual has been updated... twice. The manual that came with our unit was the Rev 10.2020 which had the 190-210ft#; then Rev 05.2021 showed 130-150ft#; and now the latest update of Rev 02.22 has 140-170ft#. I wonder if they will go full circle with the next revision LOL.

    Thanks,

What pressure do your tires get up to when you’re towing your trailer in 100+ temps? I’m curious how high both the pressure and the tire temperature gets when towing in that heat when you inflate to 125psi.

I do have a TST TPMS. But I cannot recall wht the figures were. I know that the TST was set to whatever they recomended, and it never set off the alarm. 162 seems to be a number I recall, but not sure if that was the temp or pressure.

So far so good with our Coopers - 10k miles this first year with another 2K before winterizing. I've kept the pressure up and wear looks even. I have to ask - was your spare also a Cooper?

Yes - spare matches the rest. Only issue was it wasn’t fully aired up… but an easy fix and now have a TPMS cap on it to monitor going forward.
