5th Wheel and Slider Stabilizer Experience
I understand that a 5th wheel king pin stabilizer, like this one on Amazon, are not "essential", but what are your thoughts on their use for weekend warriors? How would you rate such a purchase on a scale of 1-overkill?
I'm pulling a Reflection 295RL and am curious if slide out stabilizers, like these on Amazon, would help with longevity should the wife and I decide to go full time?
If somebody is using or has used these, could you share a little of your experience?- El Hefe

King pin stabilizers dont make much sense to me if you have a cushioned pin box. We lived in our 399 for 3 years without any stabilizers and never felt we needed them. Slide stabilizers are a big no. If the rig settles at all, which it will, there will be excess stresses on the slides if using a stabilizer. They are designed to not need additional support.

Spend the money on JT Strongarms or something like them.
Much better stabilizing. As stated above, NO SLIDE OUT STABILIZERS.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

As Steve shared, JT Strongarms and Steadyfast stabilizers have been the top 2 installed options used by many of us for years. Both work very well. We have the JTs installed in the front and rear. We have essentially no movement in any direction.
We even held a campground dance in our 303 years ago with a dozen couples dancing everything from waltz to jitterbug with the RV sold as a concrete floor. Well maybe this last sentence is a little (maybe alot) of exaggeration !

I have never used either JT or the Steadyfast. However, my brother in law had the m installed on his rig when he bought it. He nor his wife like them. He bought a pin stabilizer (bipod style, not tripod) and they like it much better. We got one, and again, while I have never experienced the Strongarm or Steadyfast systems, my wife ALWAYS makes me put in the the Bipod. Personally, a little movement doesn't bother me, unless the grandkids get to bouncing around.

I have one and don't use it. Get the Steadfast system - much better. http://www.steadyfast.com/
