I put a single filter unit under bathroom sink and installed a J spigot at same sink. My choice was to only filter the true drinking water.

Here is another version that I did. I tried to find a spot that would not eat up more storage space. While doing the plumbing, I groaned at all the chaos in the utilities area behind the wall. I installed a plexiglass window and a light so I can peek in there from time to time.
Side note; When pumping antifreeze through for winterizing, I remove the filter element (I replace it yearly anyway) and install a section of oversized pool noodle. This minimizes the volume in the filter. Works great.

The two are of the panel open so you can see, and I can easily reach, the back of the nautilus panel.Mark & Mary. Full-timing across the USA (and Canada)!

Gentlemen, I just purchased a new 341RDS and plan on installing a water filter system something along the lines of which I see here. In my plan I was going to leave the pressure regulator at the "shore power" end and just add 2 reducing "Tees" (1/2" Pex x 1/2 Pex x 1/4 NPT) to the filter assembly - one before and one after - and then install a water pressure gauge on each. I thought it would take up less room and give me a good idea of when the filters need changing (via the difference in pressure) before and after the filters. I was also thinking of adding a bypass loop around the filters since sometimes, after a while of use, the filter housing can crack and leak. (happened to my home filter system). I do like the idea of adding the extra piece of plywood wall for support and simply connecting the the original water inlet on the Nautilus system. I was going to splice into the system behind the Nautilus panel. Thanks for the pictures and ideas.

Aren't you afraid that reducing the inlet volume so much will cause problems with insufficient supply/pressure/volume of water to the trailer spigots?

I think that's always a possibility which is another reason I would install one of the pressure gauges before the filters. It would also verify the regulator pressure is correctly set as I heard sometimes they don't hold the pressure consistently. I might start out with one filter then add another if things look good. Also, when buying hose fittings and shut off valves - does anyone but me look at the size of the valve opening. Some are 1/4" and some are 3/8". Bottom line - If water pressure becomes an issue you could bypass all this stuff and see if it makes a difference.
