TPMS for tow vehicle if it already has internal pressure monitors?
I will be planning to get a TPMS for my 295RL soon such as the the TireMinder. My 2018 Ram 2500 already has stock internal tire pressure monitoring which I can set as a main display if desired.
Is just monitoring the fiver good enough for the TireMinder etc., or should I get the extra 4 monitors for the truck tires as well?
Thanks for any advice.Ram 2500 Hemi V8 6.4L Long Bed

you don't need it for your truck since it already has it. Your truck will chime if your pressures on any of the 4 tires drops below the factory set threshold.

As you figured, four more for the truck are not really necessary. I recently bought the TireMinder system, and like you, my truck has tpms from the factory. I decided to go ahead and get the four sensors for the truck anyway. It's kind of nice to have all the tires on the same monitor display for one. Also, I have a small utility trailer that I can use the extra monitors on, so that made my decision easier as well.
