    Valve on Low Point Drains

My low point drains are opposite of what I'm seeing for most others. The cap on the plug has the threads/male side, while the female side is on the actual drain lines. The plastic valves I've found are also female ends. The big box stores have adapters I could glue in to the valve to get me threads on one end, but none would fit.

Maybe need to hit a plumbing store.

Post a picture for us with a tape measure or quarter or something of recognizable size in frame so we can help identify the threads you're working with. Most likely you'll be able to find a valve that'll thread right up once the threads are known. Every camper we've owned had something different for the LPDs.

I don't think I can post photos. Not seeing how anyway.

Here is a youtube video and mine are setup the same. I believe they are 1/2", I was trying to avoid getting metal ones as everything else is plastic.

Yes, those are 1/2-inch NPT. You can skin the cat many ways:

(Also usually found at Home Depots)

You can also crimp on a valve and have added measure of cap:

    Or no cap:

    Lots of ways!

This is what I put on mine. I cut the fittings and used PEX clamps to install the valves. I tried a couple of screw on replacements but they kept leaking. This is a much cleaner solution.

This has been very helpful. I don't know plumbing so put in a bit more research and currrently it is a sharkbite cinch clamp holding everything on.

My plan is to undo the clamp and change the female end for a male end so I can get the screw on type valves. I also picked up some caps in case the valves leak and I need to unscrew them and cap the ends.

    Much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    I picked up:

    Sharkbite male plastic adapters 1/2 x 1/2
Sharkbite stainless steel cinch clamps 1/2
    2x Plastic Ball Valves

About $15 and I have extra adapters and cinch clamps.

I snipped off the old adapters right above where they ended and was able to pull the old sharkbites off and save the previous plug setup as a back up.

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction.
