    Adding LED lights

Has anyone added LED lights over the sink area or in the corner cupboards in an XLS?

Not sure about your exact layout, however, adding LED lights can be as simple as finding a battery operated "Puck" light that you can install underneath your cabinets. Otherwise, you need to find a 12v power source and determine how and where you are going to install a switch to control your lights.

If you are thinking about installing lights in the ceiling above your sink, you could get a couple of "Puck" lights that match your existing ceiling lights and drill a couple of appropriate sized holes in the ceiling to install them. You can get 12v power by removing one of the existing ceiling lights and tapping into the 12v wires and fishing new wire to your new light(s).

One thing to watch out for when adding new LED lights to lights you already have in a room is the color temperature of the new lights. You don't want to mix "warm" (yellowish) lights with "daylight" (bright white) lights.

As for your cabinets, I like to use LED light strips whenever I can, especially inside a cabinet. If things work out right, you can install the LED strip lights on the backside of the cabinet door frame so that your light is shining on things inside the cabinet, instead of shining down from the top. These strips can also be mounted vertically to light up multiple shelves (like you would have inside a pantry).

FYI, you can buy the LED strip lights in rolls and cut them to the length you need (some can be cut and don't even require soldering).

You can find LED puck lights and LED strip lights on Amazon and many other places on the internet.
