Pullrite Superlite Latch Lock
Does anyone using a Pullrite Superlite have a method of locking the hitch latch?
I am considering purchasing a Pullrite Superlite. I contacted Pullrite and asked them if there is a way to lock the hitch latch. They said there wasn't anything on the market. They also said it would take some creativity with a bike style lock to secure the hitch.
I know on a conventional 5th wheel hitch I can put a lock on the latch handle to prevent someone from pulling it when I'm not watching.
I know I should check it every time I hit the road. But sometimes we forget the things we should do.

Yes I do.
I took an old metal broom handle and flattened one end with a hammer. I stand at the tailgate (down position) and I use that flat end to push the little trigger pin forward and she closes the hitch like a mouse trap. It's the part that the king pin pushes on to activate the jaw when you hitch up.
I have to push very firmly. You sure don't want your fingers anywhere near there. I've been doing it this way for about 14 years now.

Are you referring to a way to secure the handle on the side? If so, we found a weather resistant padlock that has a thicker bar on it and is coated with a rubber-like cover. Once the trailer is hitched, we put the padlock through the top of the loop above the handle. The handle cannot be raised or pulled out with the padlock in place. It’s something like this but is an Ace Hardware brand. https://www.acehardware.com/departme...dlocks/5008156

Whimppeys - my apologies, I misread the type of Pullrite you were referring to. We have the superglide so the set up is different. Sorry for any confusion.

I have the 2400 with the quick detach rails and receiver. I use coupler locks 1/2” with 90degree lock. Went to 3 different menards and found 3 keyed alike. The locks secure the rails to the bed and receiver to the rails. Only 3 needed. As for the kingpin adaptor I need to figure out something. The problem is it comes off by removing 2 bolts. A chain thru the adaptor then around camper part of hitch is all I can come up with. Or remove it every time and use a conventional kingpin lock. Pain
To use the Exterior Cap or Not???
