PVC pipe storage for WD bars

I can't remember where else I saw this, but I attempted a similar design to store the weight distribution round bars in the front storage area via PVC pipe. I was hoping to use one PVC pipe, but I needed another quarter inch to make that work. Sorry for the lack of details on how I did it. I want to say these are three inch schedule 40 at four foot lengths and held up with three inch metal hangers. I can't remember, maybe they're' four inch. I think I used 3/4 inch sheet metal screws. The hardest part was reaching back to put the screws in and probably could have made my life easier if I drilled a pilot hole.

I was annoyed by the grease getting on the bay floor and wanted them out of the way. Originally I wanted a box on the tongue to hold them, but couldn't find one long and narrow that fit and had a price reasonable to me. This Mod is almost perfect and would like to figure out how to hold the ends up out of the way. I wipe the grease off, but it's never enough and finds its way onto my hands and then onto everything else.

I can't remember the exact price, but a 10' foot of this size PVC was >$30. I went to the store not having bought PVC this size and thinking it was going to be about $10. The pre-cut lengths were all I needed and a bit cheaper.

If I end up keeping my Husky Centerline wdh I might be borrowing your idea. I used to store them on the floor of the pass through but like you said, grease spots.

I did similar for my square Equalizer bars with a "keyhole" slot to lock them in place.

Maybe if you notched the pvc? Point one bar up to the left and the other up to the right?
I cut the lids off coke cans and use them to cover the greasy part of the bar.

Below is my storage solution, but it's outside...Click image for larger version.

Notching would be perfect, and then maybe small pieces of PVC pipe to slip on the ends that are greased.

I am very interested in your bike rack. Where did you get it, and how well is it working out for you?

Thanks. I found their website. They said to contact them as I need to haul one fat tire bike and one standard bike.

I use quart size zip lock bag and zip it up against the bar. When I sue the bars I keep the bags in another quart bag.
