    Stuck bed door...22mle

Went to check on my rig (22mle) and opened the hydraulic door under the bed. Now, the door will not close. I let the door pop up by itself. It seems like the hydraulic arms are stuck in the UP position. I tried to push down but to no avail. Is there a release button somewhere? I would hate to think that I have to disconnect it. Suggestions ???

    Thanks,
    mitch frank

Mitch, I changed your title for clarification. Those are shocks (pneumatic) no hydrolics involved. Is the bed stuck up in the air ?

As @WhittleBurner said, the are pneumatic struts. If your are unable to push them back down, even after jumping on them (just kidding) it's means that one has probably failed jammed open. I would unscrew from the side 1 at a time to see which one. Careful though as the mattress will have less support to hold it up.

Just got off the phone with GD tech support. There should be a release button on the strut itself. When I go to the rig within the next day or so, I will try to find it and take a pic for the next time anybody else has this happen.

I hope that is true so you can resolve your problem. I have replaced a number of pneumatic struts on different applications (car hoods, tailgates, camper shells) and I have never seen a reset button. The weight of the supported item and muscle is what closes the strut. I know when I rebuilt my bed platform and had the mattress off, it was difficult to get the platform back down. I was actually afraid to push too hard but pushing harder where the struts attached is what it took.

Please let us know the outcome.
