    towing

New here, old everywhere else. I have a 2022 grand jeep Cherokee overland L model V6 with the tow package. Is the grand design XLS MKE17 to heavy.? If it is suggestions on what I could tow. Thanks to all.

Welcome to the forum. We would need more information to answer your question: 1) what does the door sticker on your Jeep say about payload? 2) what does the manual say about max tow capacity as currently equipped?

You can glean a lot of good information from this thread in our Reference Library:

We have a 2022 Grand Cherokee Summit that loaded and it has a 6800 Max towing with 680 max tongue with 865 pounds of payload and we don't tow with it. The other day we put 12 cases of paper in the back to bring to the shredder and it warn us it was over weight speed reduced to 20 MPH. What a pain.

I’m showing your payload around 1270 tops and towing max 6200lbs. Anytime your tow rating is less than the max GVW of the trailer, you are starting in a bad spot. It’s too much for the truck.

In the grand design family, the AIM trailers are all that may be possible. Depending on how you load the vehicle, they may be too much, but it’s certainly more realistic. Lots of similar smaller trailers like the AIM you have as options, or the (less popular these days) pop up style trailer would also work.
