    303RLS water tank

I have read posts (and experienced) concerns about the water tank self-emptying while traveling with the 230 RLS and wonder if that’s an issue on the 303RLS? Thanks for any input.

I normally travel with fresh water tank at 1/3 (sometimes at 2/3) full and haven't had any issue so far.

I never travel full but do keep some in. If it is siphoning out you can burp the tank by letting some water out the drain. A quick open and close. I have heard of many having the problem if they travel full. If it is for boondocking, just install a ball valve and open when not traveling.

That’s how I handled it on my 230 (the ball valve) and it works well. Looking to maybe go to the 303 and wondered if I should plan on doing the same. Thanks

We travel with the tank full most of the time and have never had an issue

There's a few threads on how people dealt with the siphoning affect. The easiest is installing a Sharkbite valve that you close when traveling. Just remember to open it before using the water pump or else your tank might implode and crack. The problem is not model specific.

We have done many many trips with a full fresh water tank. I fill the FW tank at the house. Once the overflow begins, I turn off the hose, turn the valve settings from power fill to dry camping. Water stops dripping in a couple of minutes. We have arrived every time with full tanks.

I have read that if the overflow tube is too far in to the tank, it can cause an issue and is not limited to any specific model. Many folks have installed valves on the overflow.

    YMMV

we have a 303 and had to install a valve on the overflow tube due to the siphoning. Placed a label over each pump switch that says "OPEN VALVE" to remind me to open the overflow valve before turning on the pump so I don't collapse the tank.
