Need it = no. Very likely, it's not even a gelcoat-compatible coating.

The coating I got on mine is OK. Not great. The best thing about it is that comes with a 5 year warranty that covers things like front cap and decal fade. Just had a repaint on my cap. Getting ready to get some decals replaced as well.
I would say read the warranty and see if it’s worth it to you. For me it was.

I had problems with the coating applied by my dealer after only one year. Due to my experience with automotive detailing, I'm installing a new product by System X...System X Max on my 394 Momentum. My experience with other System X products has been nothing, but exceptional. The new 'Max' product is supposed to be 4x thicker, which translates to a better product IMO. Here is a link for those interested. https://www.element119.com Let me know if you're interested...I'll help if I can. -Brad
