Will reach out to weighsafe tomorrow and ask their thoughts on it also. I see they have an adapter kit for the draw bar but currently out of stock.
Most dealers will let you set up the hitch, but with your truck/trailer combo, I would not have a problem driving the 20 miles. Actually did short distances a number of times with my 2500 and my trailer weighing around 8,500-9,000 lbs. Other than knowing the weight off the front end of the truck, it towed fine.

Picked up the trailer a couple weeks ago. Ended up setting the weighsafe up at the dealer. Only took around 30 minutes for the initial setup. Towed great on the short drive home. Looking forward to testing it out on a few long trips next month.

A quick off topic question. The dealer said they only had one key and if I needed another one I would have to contact GD. Is it standard to only receive one key on a new trailer?

    We love our Weigh Safe!

You should have gotten 2 keys.

Add a full fresh water tank and IÂ’m almost maxed out at 2,550. Is it recommended to tow with your water tanks 100% full or at zero to avoid sloshing?
I have the 28G toy hauler. 8650lb dry weight and 12,000 GVWR. Once I loaded my wolverine x4 into it with full tank of gas and the fuel station full tank of gas and some clothes and basic supply i took it to weight scale. I was at 10,000lbs on the trailer axle and near 1800lbs of tongue weight. I have the blue ox 1500lb WDH and the vehicle sways all over the place. I am ordering the 2000lb bars for it now. with it empty or my dirt bike in the TH no issues. The truck is 2014 Ram 2500 Diesel. I have to be honest, Im not a fan of GD momentum toy hauler. i have had other toy haulers and it pulls the worst of them. they seem to be designed as RV's made into a toy hauler instead of the other way around. Its fine for small stuff.

What structurally is different between your GD and your previous trailers?

Can’t imagine having sway with 1800 lbs TW

Is the payload of your 2500 even much over 2000?

There are many more things that factor into sway then just tongue weight.

A properly loaded trailer will not sway

If we are talking a “true sway event”

Other factors can make a trailer tow poorly but doesn’t mean it is sway

Call it what you want but with all of the suspension upgrades I've done, and replacement of the crappy tires, my trailer tows rock steady now. No more getting blown around by 18 wheelers, and the frequent and expected wind gusts on I-10 in Southern Arizona. It is a fact that the suspensions on Lippert frames are substandard. Nylon bushings on the springs, hangers that flex and break, etc. If they weren't made so cheaply, then why does Lippert themselves sell "heavy duty" upgraded parts?
