Reuse of Camco in-line filter?
Off to the store to buy new Camco filters today. I typically use one a season, and not a heavy enough user to justify/figure out how to engineer/install a bigger "whole house" system.
So, the big question - I put on a new one for out last trip last fall. Now after sitting with water in it all winter, I don't trust what is/might have been growing in it while in storage.
I assume bleach water is bad for the charcoal part of the filter.
Is there any good way to store a partially used one for a long period? Or should I just accept that replacing at the start of the season is the best practice?2017 Imagine 2670MK

We typically use the same one all year. It’s sits at times for awhile in between trips
I have used one from the previous fall before and we are still alive
I see a post going around about bleaching hoses as well though and I have never done that. They are over 7 years old and once again I am still alive
I personally wouldn’t run a “sanitizer” through a filter. They are cheap just replace it if you don’t feel comfortable

We use said filters for an entire season. When not using it, shake out the excess water and store it in the refrigerator. The low temps keep bacteria from forming.

1 per season for us also and a season is usually June to September. I don't think bleaching it is a good idea. I just shake the excess water between trips.
