300 lbs. is for the frame-mounted hitch receivers for those units that come with one from the factory. The square tube bumpers would be nowhere close to that.

I need to check my manuals, brand new to RVing, but I'm now wondering if GD even supports the weight of the spare tire and its mount hanging on the bumper? Are the spares bumper mounted from GD, or mounted by the dealers? Assuming it's all factory installed/approved, hoping that's correct.

Thanks. Any known, approved weight load on that bumper/hose holder, aside from spare tire?

Is the rear bumper referenced in the Owner's Manual somewhere? Just curious as I've read it quite a bit and don't remember seeing it.

I just installed those brackets on my 2600rb, I removed th spare and it’s new home is the truck bed. Used the horror freight small cargo carrier for my generac 3000i which is large enough to run my AC and only weighs 60 lbs

Finally found it in my manual page 122 upper left. Says:
do not add items to the RV rear bumper blah blah blah.
And they put the spare on it.

Since these seem like a permanent addition to the RV a couple of short weld beads between the bumper and bracket might really seal the deal.

We purchased a hitch assembly fron camping world, had it welded by a welder who only works on trailers of all kinds, boat, horse, tt etc. He had a 7ft pry bar through the receiver tube to test his work. Said it was probably could for up to 700lbs but said to stick with the hitch welded weight listed of 350lbs - our cargo cage is good for 500lbs but well not test that. With generator and totes we sit at 295lbs Click image for larger version.
