Looks interesting. If you are a member of Escapees you might want to modify your route just a bit to visit The Ranch, the Escapees co-op between Carlsbad and Artesia, NM. That's where we winter. Carlsbad Caverns is a pretty interesting place.

I'll second what @kb0zke said here. It's a very nice and quiet park. I overnighted there on my way to Albuquerque from Kerrville.
