Do you empty your hatch when dropping off your RV for service?

I assume the dealer has keys to all the factory locks. It is a big pain to pull everything out, but I don’t want to be dumb about it as I am sure they are not liable for your things.

    Thoughts?

It is less the time to empty, but the finding a place to put it all.

I use a mom & pop repair facility. I don't worry about them having keys to the basement. I worry about the lowlifes that might break into the facility & trailers.
I only take out the spendy items that they can flip easily.

I remove everything from both basement compartments except the power cable. Most of our gear is in plastic storage bins , so comes out really quickly. I’m lucky enough to have it stored inside a 22’x40’ enclosed garage so just stack everything by a side wall. We leave dishes and such in the rv.

Sounds like you need to find a dealer in a better part of town!

I usually empty the "pricey" items out of the basement before it goes to storage anyway, so I guess you can say, yes I do.

I empty out incase they need to get in there to do anything. With RVs you can never tell what they need to get to for repairs.

The first couple of times, we pretty much took everything out. Now, my husband only take the expensive tools/equipment out (sometimes) when we have it in for service. Now, our service place is connected to the storage facility we use and they will pick up the rig, take it to the service site and bring it back when done. It's a fifth generation family-owned business (storage and service), so I doubt they're going to hire anyone who's going to jeopardize their reputation.
