If not contacted them, this would seem appropriate to do so to learn more about options and recommendations.

I am also curious as to where a rat entered the RV in the first place. Yes, there may be small gaps between some areas but large enough for a rat to enter seems there may be more to learn here.

    Keep us posted.

So sorry for your troubles. Good thing you took pictures. To me this is negligence on their part. If those pictures are any indication of how they treated your property in their care, definitely on them. I am willing to bet that with the underside exposed, the rat had a ladder and a door to the inside.

Wishing you the best with this.

What an unfortunate experience. So sorry to hear! It's not the dealer's fault that a rat got in, but when it's in their possession, they are responsible. Hopefully they do what's right!

    WOW
    This is beyond horrible.

Try to find out if there has been other RV's damaged by the rats at this property. That will add to your case. KEN

I have had mouse damage in the past, but that does not even compare to what you are experiencing Not even including the rat damage, what the dealer did, and failled to do, in protecting your stuff, was pure negligence.

I'm so sorry to see the damage to your new toy hauler. What surprises me the most from these pictures is the damage done by the dealer trying to catch the rat. It looks like they did more damage than the rat! Before taking it back, get a black light flashlight and look over the trailer with that. It will expose the urine and droppings.

I didn't read beyond your post, but my advice, and your need, in one word - lawyer. Look closely at that service order fine print you signed and you will immediately know why.

i wouldnt want that trailer back no matter how "fixed" it is. Either lawyer up or push your insurance carrier to total it and let them go after the dealer through their lawyer. You deserve a new replacement trailer at at a discount considering what youve gone through. Goodluck

I'd be on the phone with your insurance company immediately. The dealer is not on your side, and the more expensive it looks to be for them the more likely they are to chalk it up as an accident and not any kind of negligence. Your best case against that is the shoddy disassembly as they ripped it apart. But still, it won't be surprising when they altogether stop talking to you and basically tell you to pound sand. Your insurance company will be your best bet, let them go after the dealer while you can get back to your life with a replacement trailer.
