Weight - Just a little concerned
hi everyone -
After reading a few weight threads i wanted to make sure i am safe here.
I own a 2014 f-350 crew cab diesel DRW with the 8 foot bed and yesterday i brought home a 2015 Momentum 350 m
i am laughing as i type this but how can i find out how much weight "room" i have left? (i thought my trailer was 16,500 lbs empty)
Obviously things i should have figured out beforehand.
My truck was prepped for the 5th wheel so i had to get the reese square brackets and i have the Reese part number 30081 which is a select plus 20,000 lb 5th wheel hitch.
Thanks in advance - I bought this thing foggy headed while having pneumonia and im not thinking straight lol

Just take it by the "CAT" scales at your local truck stop and weigh it. The only accurate way to know.

thank you - was concerned mostly about the hitch itself only being rated for 20,000 lbs.

Mine weighs 20,500 fully loaded and GVWR is 19,500. My hitch is rated at 21,000... gettin' close. Luckily I'm still within ratings for the truck axles, tires etc. and trailer axles, tires etc.

I am guessing that is scale weight ? Is yours a 2 or 3 axle, I heard the new 385 would have 3 cant tell from your picture ?
Also have you changed OEM tires, I am big believer in Michelin's. The 17.5 tires and ability to get a true HD tire were big selling points for me. I have 355 TH.
Thanks

i am confused.... even if you have a truck and hitch that can pull 40,000 lbs isnt there a chance the coach axles will break if you go over the GVWR?

You have plenty of rig to pull this trailer, hookup, go as fast as you want and don't look back.
Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, actual weight. Mine is a three axle rated at 7,000 each so 21,000 rating for axles ... there is about 3,800 on hitch so only about 17,200 actually on the axles. The OEM tires seem pretty good so far... but I am a LT tire liking guy usually. I'll see how these do. They are rated around 3,700 each or so (I think-but I know they are more than the axles)
