New TV Tires - Cooper AT3 or BFG AT KO2

I’m going to be getting new tires for my Silverado 3500 SRW and have narrowed my choices down to the Cooper AT3 XLT or the BFG AT KO2s. Does anybody have experience with either of them? Thanks!

Love the AT3's!!! Smooth/quiet ride on the interstate and great traction on snow or gravel. Plus they look great on the truck.

Stay away from BFG's. I know so many people who swear by them, my past self included, but they are simply not durable. I've had 8 tread separations happen to me, 7 were from BFG's and the last was a 15 year old Michelin I bought used and didn't look at the date code. I switched to cooper s/t maxx's because they're one of two 255/80r17 made, but they're too unstable for towing so I'll be going with the AT3's next. A buddy of mine with the same truck just switched from toyo a/t to AT3's and said he picked up 2.5mpg and they have great road manners/ quiet

I've never had AT3s but I've had lots of Cooper tires and have always had good longevity and luck with them.

I had a set of BFs on a Ram 1500 and pulling the trailer ate them up. They look great, but they weren’t durable enough for the weight. My next set will be the AT3s.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread also. This summer I will be replacing the OEM tires on my Dually, which are BFG tires. Right now I have 45,000 miles on them and they still have some wear left, but since we have a planned trip out west late summer/early fall, I'm not taking any chances on the tires and will be replacing them before the trip...5000+ miles.

I have had BF's and they are great tires for mud and snow. They do not last. The most on my Tundra would be 60,000 kms. No experience with Cooper.

I've had BFG KO (not KO2) on Tacoma, AT3 on 2013 F150, and now AT3 XLT on 2019 F150. I based my move to AT3s based on a 2014 article from Expedition Portal. The title of the article is "Where Rubber Meets the Road" and is a great (imo) read. I'd link to it but think I've done that before and had post deleted.

    My experience:

    Dry: AT3 quieter than KO
Wet: AT3 does not slip - period. KO slipped often on wet pavement.
Mud: KO better at shedding mud.
    Snow/Ice: AT3 holds traction better.

    I hope this is helpful.
