...Post this, but today it's funny so I will. Yesterday I got everything around so that I could try out the Flojet Macerator pump I bought last fall. I got one because, after several years parking rigs in the driveway (see my Avatar) I moved it to the back yard. In doing so, I will be pumping uphill about a 4' rise over 58'. Got everything ready, had all of the tanks full ready to give it a whirl. I installed a 90 degree clear elbow to the exterior Vlaterra gate valve so I could keep an eye on everything, and hooked the pump to it. Opened the Valterra, then the gray tanks to fill the line then closed them. Next I opened the black tank and turned the pump on. Wow, did it work like a champ. About 3.5 minutes later the black tank was empty, soon thereafter the gray tanks were empty. I was really concerned about the uphill and the distance. Now the not so fun part. Time to flush the system. Opened the fresh water line and started the pump. Worked great. I kept turning the pump on and off till everything looked sparkling clean. Then I closed the Valterra valve. Not the right thing to do. The water pressure blew the elbow apart with a loud "pop", and the darn pump landed on the ground, spraying water all over me! I was finally able to get to the water "y" connector to shut the water off, but I swear the pump pivoted to keep spraying me. I had no Idea that those fittings even came apart. I found the clear portion in the wife's flower bed about 15" away. The fittings were still attached to the gate valve and the pump. hooked everything back together and all of it still works, but damn... Well, at least I learned a couple of things on what to do and not do... Stay safe out there folks!
