    pulling carpet in bedroom?

Just got done putting in a Dometic 320 with new pex line and shutoff.....now wife asked
    about taking up carpet.

Is the same flooring usually laid (like rest of flooring)?

    Many staples I imagine?

Any thoughts, advise, pics from someone who has been there and done that.

    Thanks

I don't know about Rvs. Watching my BIL in days gone by, along with the tack strip most home carpet uses "many staples" as well

We have not done it...yet ....it is on the remodel list but we kind of dread pulling a thousand staples so it hasn't gotten done.

But it has been done by others. You will find that it's not a fast job. There are more staples than you can imagine ..and the carpet is under everything, it goes under the edge of the walls, the bed frame comes up as well as the cabinets unless you want to cut around those areas and use trim to hide the signs of carpet threads.

We did our MH a few years ago. Yes, MANY staples! Many more than you would imagine. Also, we put in plank wood-look vinyl. You will have many cuts as the surface area is not like laying a typical room in a house - this is a smaller area, there are many obstructions - walls, bed base, built in furniture and cabinetry, heater vents, etc. Guess how long it will take you then triple the time.

While I haven't pulled the carpet in the bedroom, I have removed the carpet from the steps and hallway of a 2010 Cyclone. The hallway was only stapled around the edges. The steps however, they went wild! The flooring under the carpeting was the same sheet vinyl as the rest of the trailer.

Yup, staples. I found that gently grabbing them with side cutters and prying up worked best/quickest. If I happened to cut one off I took my frustration out on it with a hammer.

I have replaced carpet under the kitchen table and in the living room. Lots of staples, beer helps. I have not tackled the bedroom yet. I am an old fat guy I don't look forward to cramming myself in the narrow walkway around the bed. One day DW will get excited enough about the project for me suck it up and get er done.
