Thoughts on new RV
So we have two GD RV's. A 2016 29rs and a 2018 220rk. I originally bought the 29rs to tow with a F150 and discovered that if the wind was blowing over 10 mph you better have a better truck. So I parked the 29rs in the barn and bought a 220rk. It's about 6' shorter and lighter but I found once again that in TX where the wind blows all of the time I didn't much care for towing. We bought some land in CO and took the 29rs up there for a couple years while the house was being built (bought a '16 F250 PSD to haul it up there). While the 29rs was there we used the 220rk for camping around TX and OK.
Last fall we brought the 29rs home and are camping with it because I now have a 2020 F350 PSD. The 220rk is just sitting in the barn. I got it out a month ago and listed it on Craigslist and all over Facebook. I saw several others listed at 32k so started there. Got no bites from any of the posts. I have it at a neighbor's house who gets lots of traffic. Lot's have stopped to look but they either want a larger RV or one for 10k. Over the last few weeks I lowered it to 30k and then 28k last weekend. No bites.. I hate leaving it out in the weather especially with all of the storms and hail lately.
I know of two other 220rk's that sold from people on the 220rk Facebook group. One went for 25k and one for around 28k. I am wondering if I should keep waiting or just trade both in on another unit. We are interested in a unit with a king size bed and the 320mks looks good
Any thoughts? I am wondering which way I would lose the most? Trade them both in and bite the bullet on a new one or sell the 220rk cheap? (20-25k if I can sell it)

Something is wrong. The current market for both new and used RVs is very hot.
We sold our bumper pull earlier in the year and netted a couple of grand more than we expected. We sold on consignment through our old dealer who obviously knows more about selling RVs than we do. He putour trailer on his lot and advertised on our behalf. It sold in less than a week. You might try that approach.

It sounds like your local market is just tough. Might be worth trying a selling platform that reaches a larger audience. I personally know of friends that have sold same day above asking. I know TT has a broader audience than 5W, but still. If yours is as pristine as garage kept would imply, should be an easy sell, and price seems in line to me.

Post it up in RV Trader. Seems to be getting good hits based on folks from the boondocking forum I follow too. Craigslist is pretty much gone the way of the Old West due to the abuse.

Good morning johndeerefarmer, I will second geotex's suggestion for selling on RV Trader. When we sold our Imagine 2970RL in March of this year, we used RV Trader and it took all of about 2 hours. Sold for full asking price of $33,500 against two different dealer trade in offers of $18,000 and $22,000 respectively. Dealers are not going to offer you more than what they can buy a new unit from Grand Design for. In my case the dealer could buy a brand new 2970RL from Grand Design for about $22,000. Dealers are not being stingy with their trade in offers, just practical. Best of luck. Frank.

Hello JD,
We sold our 220RK for 27k in Nov 2020. It took 5 days and I used CL and RVtrader. It helps being in a major population area like DFW.

I listed in on RV Trader and went for the enhanced package so I could include lots of pixs. Thanks for the input..
