All suggestions here good. You have a binding signed agreement. lawyer if necessary, Call GD and report dealer. But if it were me, I would cancel order from this dealer. He has shown he is not honest and you will probably have issues with him down the road should you need there service. Say good-by. You hold the cards for a deal with any other dealer as you are will to pay cash with no trade in.

Force Majeure
There is a clause in contract law called Force Majeure that is being used on a daily basis these past few months. Shortages of raw materials and super high demand has caused price increases in just about every industry. It’s legal for them to invoke the price increase. Good for you for standing your ground.

That would not apply to a price increase! It would for things like missing a delivery date because of acts of God that caused part delay or something such as that. Increasing a price after a contractual agreement is just bad timing for GD! A price increase is not out of their control!

I tried to tell some people on here a few days ago, that GD had more clout with the dealers than some wanted to admit!

We were told up front by our dealer that prices were going up and if we ordered now we wouldn’t be subject up the increase. This was back in March. We ordered and our fifth wheel also came off the line on May 3rd. They are sticking to what they promised with no increase.

It would be interesting to see how the Sales Agreement addresses possible price increases after the deposit is accepted. There should be a paragraph that states the rights of the purchaser regarding pricing in such a circumstance.

We've had our eye on a Reflection 295rl (we currently own a tt from a different manufacturer). When we first went to the local GD dealer, we were told that prices were increasing 7% on 5/1. We want dual pane windows and will most likely need to order them to secure them. On 4/30, the sales manager of the dealership called me (we'd been dealing with a brand new sales rep who knew very little about the industry or the product) and he said the price increase would on 6/1 and that it would apply to anything coming off the line after that date even if we order it now. Based upon that, we certainly didn't feel rushed to order.
The comments I've read above indicate that the price should freeze when ordered. If that is true and if the price increase actually is June 1 and not May 1, then maybe we should go ahead and order (if the dealer agrees that the price will freeze). He did say anything coming off after June 1 would be a 2022 model.
Any thoughts on this?
